THE STARS OF THE WINTER FESTIVAL DAY Polar bears in the spotlight for Polar Bear Day
Polar bears are the stars of our winter wonderland, as we celebrate the official International Polar Bear Day on 27 February. Established by Polar Bears International, the annual day aims to draw attention to the impact of climate change on polar bear habitat and to promote conservation efforts.
Venus, Kara and Inuvik are waiting!
The best way to get to know our polar bears is to attend a polar bear animal demonstration (12 noon and 12.15pm) and a polar bear feeding time (2pm) in the renewed polar bear enclosure.
Our expert animal keepers will introduce the famous trio of polar bears of Ranua and introduce visitors to their individual temperaments and habits. During the programme, the zookeepers will deepen participants’ knowledge of the polar bear as a species by telling fascinating facts about the endangered species and its life in the Arctic.
To celebrate Polar Bear Day, we will give away stickers and candy to all Wildlife Park visitors!
