Ranua Resort has grown over the decades, and today it is much more than just a wildlife park. In addition to the arctic Wildlife Park, we have wonderful glass igloos on the shore of Ranuanjärvi, log holiday villas right opposite the wildlife park, two camping areas, a high-quality restaurant and numerous different activities throughout the year. Sustainable practices are at the core of our mission, and we treat all our animals in an exemplary manner. We don’t take good care only of our animals — we also cherish our employees. We strive to continuously improve our safety, working conditions, and team spirit.

A Great Place to Work A workplace recognized by our own people

star

Ranua Resort is proud to be Great Place to Work Certified™ for the second time. We have also been ranked 12th among Finland’s Best Workplaces in the small companies category.

What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that it is based entirely on feedback from our employees. Their experiences show that Ranua Resort is a workplace where equality, team spirit and the meaningfulness of work are truly felt in everyday life.

For us, a great workplace is built through trust, respect and working together. It means acceptance and open-mindedness, helping one another during busy days, taking pride in what we do and creating an atmosphere where people can feel welcome, supported and valued.

Roles and teams

Ranua Resort offers a wide range of opportunities for people who enjoy hospitality, nature, customer service and teamwork. Some of our roles are highly visible to guests, while others keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. What connects them all is the same goal: creating memorable, meaningful and well-cared-for experiences in Finnish Lapland.

Living and working in Ranua

star

Ranua is a small Lappish town about 80 km (1 hour drive) east of Rovaniemi. Ranua Resort is situated 3 km from the town centre towards Rovaniemi. Buses run between Rovaniemi and Ranua, multiple times a day around the year.

The town has two supermarkets, a hardware store, a liqueur store, some other shops, a couple of gas stations, and a few bars and restaurants. It has a health centre,  and plenty of indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Here, you don’t find a busy nightlife or ample shopping opportunities, but that also means that we don’t have traffic jams, hoards of tourists, bright city lights, loud noise or pollution. We have tranquility and peace, beautiful nature, authenticity, and a local community that is warm and welcoming.

Housing is sparse, as is the case in all small towns in Lapland. But don’t worry, if you have trouble finding a place to stay, we will help you get situated and settled in.
