Grand Opening of the Renewed Polar Bear Area on Saturday 13 December
Come celebrate with us!
The extensive renovation of Ranua Wildlife Park’s polar bear enclosure is complete, and we are finally ready to open the completely revamped area to visitors. On Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., we will celebrate the opening at the wildlife park and Ranua Resort area – and the star of the day will, of course, be the majestic ruler of the Arctic wilderness, the polar bear.
The polar bear enclosure, which has been completely renovated and modernized, now offers more spacious, comfortable, and safer facilities for the polar bears. Our goal has been to create a species-specific and stimulating habitat for the polar bears that meets international recommendations and supports the well-being of this Arctic species throughout the year. The enclosure’s new spatial solutions and technical systems enable flexible use of space, safe working conditions for animal keepers, and more stimulating land and water areas for the polar bears, as well as temperature conditions suitable for the species.
The visitor experience has also been taken to a new level. The renovated walkways and improved viewing areas allow visitors to observe the polar bears from both a high walkway and close to ground level, right next to the fence, without disturbing the animals. The renovation is part of Ranua Resort’s long-term work to improve animal welfare, safety, and the quality of the visitor experience.
Be among the first to experience the renewed polar bear area!
On the opening day you can enjoy polar-bear-themed atmosphere and fun activities for the whole family – plus special offers and surprises available only on the opening Saturday.
The wildlife park is open as usual from 10:00 to 16:00, with the opening festivities focused on the brightest hours of the day.
