The autumn break is the perfect time to get away from it all for a while and spend some quality time together. At Ranua Resort, your holiday will be filled with encounters with Arctic animals, shared adventures and the atmosphere of autumn in the great outdoors.

Autumn holiday adventures at the Wildlife Park
Wildlife Park programm
During the autumn half-term, Ranua Wildlife Park is open daily from Monday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
AUTUMN HOLIDAY PROGRAM 10–25 October 2026
Monday–Friday
- 11.45 Polar bear – keeper talk
- 1.00 pm Guided tour: Finland’s large carnivores (duration approx. 30 mins, in Finnish only)
- 14.30 Wolverine – feeding time
Saturday–Sunday
- 1.00 pm Arctic fox – feeding time
During the autumn half-term, you can enjoy animal keeper talks, feeding times and a guided tour of the large carnivores.
- During the keeper talk, you’ll learn about the Wildlife Park’s residents and their counterparts in the wild, as well as the conservation of the species.
- At feeding time, you can observe the animals’ daily routine as a keeper serves them their food.
- On the ‘Finnish Large Carnivores’ guided tour, you’ll join a guide for a tour lasting around half an hour to learn about bears, wolves, lynx and wolverines. During the tour, one of the species will be fed or given some stimulation. The tour is particularly suitable for families with children and is conducted in Finnish only.
Please note:
- Schedules are subject to change. You can obtain up-to-date information from the ticket office upon arrival.
- Please arrive in good time so that you have enough time to make your way from the ticket office to the animal enclosure.
- Any animal feeding will be carried out by an animal keeper. Visitors will watch the feeding from outside the enclosure.
Make your visit to the Wildlife Park a bit more fun Jonne the Polar Bear’s Wild Treasure Hunt
Bring a secret treasure map with you to the wildlife park and join Jonne the Polar Bear on his wild treasure hunt! Use the treasure map to find the task stations along the route and complete the fun challenges at each one. At the same time, you’ll learn interesting facts about the animals in our wildlife park.
Collect the secret letters from the challenge stations and use them to find the answer to Jonne’s secret code.
Once you’ve cracked the code, return the treasure map to the ticket office and you’ll receive a surprise prize. You’ll also have a change to enter into a prize draw for some great prizes.
The treasure hunt is suitable for children aged around 8–12 and, of course, for anyone who’s young at heart. Children younger than this can take part in the treasure hunt with the help of an adult. Solving the tasks and completing the treasure map requires the ability to read and write. The treasure maps are available in Finnish and English.
Jonne the Polar Bear’s Wild Treasure Hunt runs from 10 to 25 October 2026.
Treasure hunt prize draw prizes:
- 2 experience gift vouchers: A stay in a Ranua Resort Holiday Villa, Wildlife Park tickets and an optional escape room game for 1–6 people. We will draw one winner at the end of each of the two autumn holiday weeks.
- 30 Ranua Resort activity books
We’ll email the experience gift vouchers to the winners. We’ll draw the activity books at the end of each day, and winners can collect them straight away from the ticket office.

Autumn in Ranua is the perfect time for a cycle ride! Hire an e-fatbike and set off to explore the area’s forests, lakeside scenery and peaceful trails at your own pace. Ranua offers options for both leisurely rides and longer cycling trips, and the electric assist makes for a comfortable ride across varied terrain.

Escape from everyday life – and from the escape room! New at Ranua Resort: escape room games
Round off your visit with an experience that challenges you to work together, solve problems and think creatively. Ranua Resort’s new escape room games offer an immersive experience where success comes from working together and finding solutions.
You can choose from two Christmas-themed stories, suitable for playing all year round:
- Santa’s Workshop– a fast-paced mission where you save Christmas by repairing a broken time machine.
- Santa’s Chamber– a mystical adventure in which you uncover the mystery behind Santa’s disappearance.

Book your stay in a Holiday Villa directly with Ranua Resort and take advantage of our autumn benefit. Choose your preferred activity or challenge your group to an escape room adventure – and enjoy the possibility of checking in earlier on your arrival day, subject to availability.
When you book directly, choose one of the following autumn benefits:

Guests who book a Holiday Villa directly can also enjoy early check-in from 1.00 pm, subject to availability.

Autumn in Lapland invites you to slow down and enjoy the tranquillity of nature. During your stay in a Glass Igloo, you can soak up the atmosphere of the darkening evenings, admire the starry sky and, with a little luck, even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights – all from the warmth and comfort of your own igloo.
The autumn accommodation package in a Glass Igloo includes:
- one night’s accommodation in a Glass Igloo
- breakfast
- a bottle of sparkling wine
- late check-out until 12.00 noon, subject to availability

- 390 € per night in a Twin Igloo for 1–2 guests
- 443 € per night in a Lakeside Igloo for 1–2 guests

Camping Wildlife Park Head off on your autumn break in your own motorhome
You can also set off on your autumn break in a motorhome or caravan! Camping Wildlife Park is open all year round, right next to Ranua Wildlife Park. As well as caravan pitches with electricity, you’ll have access to the campsite’s communal facilities, and the sauna is heated every evening.
It’s a brilliant base if you want to combine a visit to the Wildlife Park, outdoor activities and other experiences in Ranua with your autumn break.
